Account Setup

To begin your journey on Rodeo, you’ll first need to create an account. Rodeo offers multiple login options to make the process quick and convenient. Here’s how you can get started:

1. Login or Create an Account
   • Email: Enter your email address and follow the instructions to create an account. You’ll receive a confirmation code to verify your email.
   • Crypto Wallet: Connect your existing crypto wallet, such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Rainbow, to Rodeo. Once connected, you’ll be able to log in using your wallet’s signature.
   • Instagram: Use your Instagram account to log in. Simply select the Instagram login option and authorize access.
2. Linking Multiple Login Methods
   • Rodeo allows you to link multiple login methods (email, crypto wallet, and Instagram) to the same account. This gives you the flexibility to log in with the method that’s most convenient for you at any time.
   • To link additional methods, go to your profile’s settings and connect your email, wallet, or Instagram account.

Understanding the Rodeo Wallet

What is a Rodeo Wallet?

The Rodeo Wallet is a secure smart account designed to facilitate seamless transactions and interactions within the Rodeo platform. Unlike traditional crypto wallets like MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet, the Rodeo Wallet operates as a separate, platform-specific wallet that allows users to deposit, store, and manage ETH directly on Rodeo.

While traditional wallets require users to approve every transaction, the Rodeo Wallet simplifies this process. It enables one-tap deposits, collections, and withdrawals, all while maintaining full security and user control. Users retain complete ownership of their funds, and only they can authorize transactions in and out of their Rodeo Wallet.

1. Set Up the Base Network

What are Posts?

Posts on Rodeo are digital creations that exist as ERC-1155 tokens on the blockchain. Each post can be minted by collectors within a 24-hour period, turning it into a unique, verifiable asset that lives on the blockchain. This tokenization allows creators to retain ownership of their work and provides collectors with a way to own and showcase digital art.

Key information visible on each post includes:

• Mint Countdown: A 24-hour timer indicating how much time is left to mint the post.

• Number of Mints: Shows how many collectors have minted the post.

• Comments: Enables community feedback and discussions on the post.

• Share Options: Allows users to share the post on platforms like Warpcast and social media.

How to Create a Post on Rodeo

Follow these simple steps to create a post:

1. Access the Create Button
   • Log in to Rodeo and click the “Create” button on the main navigation bar.

2. Upload an Asset
   • Select the media file you want to upload.
   • Supported file types include JPG, PNG, GIF, MOV, and MP4.
   • File size limits:
     • JPG, PNG, MOV, and MP4 files can be up to 300 MB.
     • GIFs have a size limit of 15 MB.

3. Customize the Post
   • Title: Enter a short title (up to 40 characters) for the post.

• Caption: Write a caption (up to 200 characters) to provide context or a creative description.

• Categories: Select relevant categories (like Illustration, AI Art, Photography, etc.) to increase the visibility of your post.

• Share to Farcaster: If your Farcaster account is connected to Rodeo, you can toggle the option to share the post on Farcaster.

• NSFW Tagging: If your post contains sensitive content, you can tag it as NSFW (Not Safe For Work) to ensure appropriate audience visibility.

4. Submit the Post
   • Click “Post” to finalize and submit the post.
   • Confirm the transaction in your wallet and pay the required gas fee (if applicable).

How to Edit and Moderate Posts

1. Editing a Post
   • You can edit a post within the first hour of its creation.
   • To edit a post, click on the “…” menu on the post (accessible from the feed or the post’s dedicated page).

• Update any of the following fields:
  • Asset: Change the media file (image/video) used for the post.
  • Title: Update the title of the post.
  • Description/Caption: Edit the caption for the post.
  • Category: Update or add categories to improve discoverability.
• Once the changes are made, they will be visible to all users, including collectors who have already minted the post.

2. Post Moderation
   • Posts may be moderated if they violate Rodeo’s Terms of Service. This includes issues like misrepresentation, copyminting, adult content, hate speech, and other violations.
   • What Happens to a Moderated Post?
     • The post is removed from visibility on Rodeo’s platform and the creator’s profile.
     • Mints associated with the post will still exist in collectors’ wallets and may remain viewable on external platforms.
   • Appealing a Moderation Decision
     • If you believe your post was unfairly moderated, you can contact Rodeo’s support team to appeal the decision.

By following these guidelines, creators can ensure their posts meet community standards, maximize visibility, and provide a seamless experience for collectors.

Collecting Posts on Rodeo

How to Collect a Post

Collecting posts on Rodeo is a straightforward process, whether you’re browsing through the feed or viewing a specific post page. Here’s how you can collect a post:

1. Find a Post to Collect
   • Browse the Rodeo feed to discover new posts.
   • Alternatively, visit a creator’s profile to view their collection of posts.
2. Collect the Post
   • Click the “Collect” button located on the post.
   • If you have sufficient credits or ETH, the post will be instantly added to your collection.
   • Rodeo prioritizes using credits first. If no credits are available, ETH from your Rodeo Wallet will be used instead.

3. Transaction Confirmation
   • If ETH is being used, you may be prompted to confirm the transaction in your wallet.
   • Once confirmed, the collection will be recorded, and the post will appear in your profile’s “Collected” section.

Collection Management

After collecting posts, you can manage and view your collection directly from your profile. Here’s how:

1. View Collected Posts
   • Go to your Rodeo profile page.
   • Click on the “Collected” tab to see all the posts you’ve collected.
   • View your collection as a personal gallery showcasing your taste and support for creators.

2. Undo an Accidental Collection
   • If you accidentally collect a post, you’ll have a limited time to undo it.
   • Immediately after collecting, an “Undo” button will appear on the post.
   • Click the button to reverse the transaction and restore the funds (ETH or credits) to your Rodeo Wallet.
   • Once the “Undo” window expires, the transaction is finalized and cannot be reversed.

What Happens If Funds Are Insufficient?

If you attempt to collect a post but don’t have enough ETH or credits, you’ll receive an Insufficient Funds message. Here’s what you can do:

1. Buy Credits
   • Purchase credits directly from the Rodeo Wallet.
   • Use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a credit/debit card to fund your Rodeo Wallet with credits.
2. Deposit ETH
   • Transfer ETH from your external crypto wallet (like MetaMask or Coinbase) to your Rodeo Wallet.
   • Once the deposit is complete, you’ll be able to collect posts using the ETH balance.
3. Create and Monetize Posts
   • If you’re a creator, you can upload new posts that users can mint.
   • Each mint will earn you ETH, which you can use to collect other posts.

Social Features of Rodeo

Following and Subscribing

Rodeo’s social features make it easy to connect with creators, collectors, and curators. Here’s how to follow and subscribe to users on the platform:

1. How to Follow Users
   • Visit a user’s profile and click the “Follow” button.
   • Once you follow a user, their posts and activity will appear more frequently in your personalized feed.
   • You can also search for users using their username or wallet address to find them directly.

2. How to Subscribe to Users
   • After following a user, a bell icon will appear next to their follow button.
   • Click the “Bell” icon to subscribe to their post notifications.
   • You’ll receive an alert every time they post new content.
   • If you unfollow a user, you’ll automatically be unsubscribed from their notifications.

Sharing and Messaging

Rodeo allows users to share posts and profiles directly through DMs (Direct Messages) to foster connections and encourage collaboration.

1. How to Share Posts and Profiles via DM
   • Visit the post or profile you want to share.

• Click the “Share” button and select the user you want to send it to.

• Add an optional message to provide context or explanation for why you’re sharing the post.

• Click “Send” to deliver the post or profile directly to their inbox.

2. How to Send Direct Messages
   • Click the message icon at the top-right corner of the screen.

• Click the “+” button to start a new conversation.

• Select the recipient from your list of contacts or search for them by username.

• Type your message and click the “Send” button.

3. Managing Message Requests
   • If someone you don’t follow sends you a message, it will appear in the Requests tab of your inbox.

• You can choose to accept or ignore the message request.

Notifications

   • Every time a user mints a post, a total minting fee of 0.0001 ETH is charged.
   • 50% (0.00005 ETH) of this fee goes directly to the creator as their earnings.
   • The remaining 50% is split between curators and Rodeo itself, as described in the following sections.

2. Tracking Creator Earnings
   • Each time a post is minted, the creator’s earnings are automatically deposited into their Rodeo Wallet.
   • Creators receive notifications for each mint, allowing them to track their earnings in real time.
   • To view a detailed transaction history, creators can access their Rodeo Wallet and review the internal transaction log.

Earning as a Curator

Curators play a vital role in promoting content on Rodeo, and they are rewarded for influencing others to mint posts. Here’s how curators earn from the platform:

1. Referral Rewards
   • Curators earn referral rewards when they successfully influence others to mint a post.
   • When a collector mints a post as a result of a curator’s activity (like sharing a post or appearing in a follower’s feed), the curator earns a percentage of the minting fee.

2. Minting Fee Breakdown for Curators
   • 25% (0.000025 ETH) of the total minting fee is allocated to the curator who influenced the mint.
   • This reward is paid out automatically to the curator’s Rodeo Wallet.
3. How to Share Posts for Referral Rewards
   • Share Via Direct Messages: Open the post you’d like to share and click the “Share” button to send it to other users via direct message.
   • Use Referral Links: Click the “Share” option and generate a link that can be shared on social media or other messaging platforms.
   • Each time a collector mints the shared post, the curator earns a referral reward.

Viewing Earnings

Both creators and curators can track their earnings on Rodeo using their Rodeo Wallet and blockchain explorer tools like Basescan. Here’s how to do it:

1. View Earnings in the Rodeo Wallet
   • Log In: Access your Rodeo account and click on the wallet icon.
   • Access Transactions: Check the list of incoming deposits, which will display minting rewards and referral earnings.
2. View Earnings on Basescan
   • Go to Your Rodeo Profile: Click on your username, ENS, or linked wallet address from your profile.

   • Submit an Appeal: If you believe your post was unfairly moderated, you can submit an appeal to Rodeo’s support team.
