Can You Feel That Glow

Fall in New England is an amazing time of year. The world transforms with crisp air and an explosion of color. The change in my environment has always inspired me to venture out with my camera and explore.

This particular shot was taken while I was out searching for Great Horned Owls in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While I listened for the owls and waited, I was taken by the sight of the light from the setting sun glowing through fallen leaves in the grass.

I Dream in color

This shot was taken at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts. In the fall, hooded mergansers move through the area and are a delight to shoot against the fall colors.

On this Halloween afternoon, the overcast sky turned the lake into a mirror reflecting the glorious colors of the autumn trees above. I was thrilled to spot a male hooded merganser swimming through the delightfully colorful lake.

Stepping Stones

Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts is a local gem. It is a 102-acre conservation area full of trails for hiking and biking. Locals enjoy canoeing and fishing on the water. The conservation area is popular with bird watchers and photographers because the area attracts a wide variety of songbirds and raptors.

Mirror, Mirror

This shot was taken at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts. An overcast sky turned the lake into a smooth reflective mirror. The brilliant colors of fall were doubled as I gazed around.

Light the Way

I visited Vietnam Veterans’ Park in Billerica, Massachusetts to take pictures of my friend with her family. I arrived early to scope out the location, and I was treated to this beautiful autumn scene.

The sun was just beginning to set, and its light flared in my lens through the fall foliage. The light of the sun case long shadows across the grass which were amplified with wide angle photography.
