Snowy OWL
I had the privilege of encountering a magnificent snowy owl on January 10, 2015. My husband and I bundled up on a cold January morning to take pictures around the North Shore of Massachusetts and the South Shore of New Hampshire. We ended up in Rye Beach, NH where we were lucky enough to spot this magnificent snowy owl.
Snowy Owls travel south to avoid the harshest of winter temperatures in the arctic. They can be spotted along the New England coast between November and February, if you know where to look.

Twilight Goose
I created Twilight Goose on January 27, 2016 at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts.
An all-day snow storm had just finished. I looked out my living room window to see the clouds clearing in time for sunset. I knew we were in store for a stunner, so I grabbed my gear and hurried to the Pond to get in position.

Christmas Cardinal
This image was shot on February 5, 2016. I met this adorable cardinal at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts.
On this particular day, the school that I worked at was closed for a snow day. I bundled myself up in winter gear and trudged down to Horn Pond to shoot in the fresh snow. I was lucky enough to spot this gorgeous male cardinal perched on a branch, heavy with wet snow.

WinTER ChicKADEE
This piece is from February 5, 2016 at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts is a fantastic local gem. It is a great location for birding during all four New England seasons.

TITMOUSE ON ICE
Titmouse on Ice was created on January 18, 2016. I found this cute little bird at my favorite birding location, Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts.
As soon as fresh snow settles, I love to bundle up in winter gear and head over to the Pond. The birds emerge to search for food and are eager to pose for my camera, as I am usually the only human there.

Santa Paws
Santa Paws was created on December 20, 2014 in Wells, Vermont.
My best friend lives in Vermont. I enjoy taking trips up to her home, to experience all four seasons with her. At Christmas time, Vermont is usually blanketed with sparkling white snow that is a wonder to see. In 2014, we decided to get her dog, Obi, in on our festive cheer. Obi obliged us and posed as Santa Paws.

SWAN LAKE
Swan Lake was shot on February 13, 2017. I was back at my favorite local nature spot, Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts.
On this winter’s day, I went out to do some birding. I was treated to the sight of a mute swan taking a running start on the ice to get into the air.
