#PickYourPoison 2022 – Halloween art and Photography on Tezos

Pick Your Poison 2022

#PickYourPoison2022 was a community-wide Tezos community event that ran through the month of October of 2022.

Various Tezos communities ran different themed minting events for the Halloween season. Each group created their own rules for the medium artists could use, the theme artists were supposed to create art about, how many editions the artist was supposed to mint, and suggestions for how the artist should price their work.

Each group ran Twitter Spaces to provide artists the opportunity to discuss their pieces and share them with a wider audience.

As one of the founders of the Tez Tunas, I worked with the different groups to organize all the disparate events under the banner of #PickYourPoison.

My goal was to mint at least one Tezos NFT for each group’s event. This post contains my pieces from the event.

Pumpkin carving with friends in Vermont became an annual tradition in the years before I had children. In this particular year, one of my friends decided to increase the wow factor.

On a perfect fall day, I carved jack-o-lanterns with friends in the mountains of Vermont. This little buddy bit off more than he could chew.

Throughout history, women with talent have been accused of witchcraft. Accusing a woman of being a witch was a way to destroy her and strip her of her power. Today, women with ambition are still accused of being witches, or bitches, or control-freaks, or any number of derogatory names meant to strip them of their power.

I created an AI piece for the #TezWizards event of the #PickYourPoison Tezos community collaboration. The prompt was “AI Wizards”. I thought of my children, and imagined them as wizards exploring the magic of autumn together.

@TheDiabloverse created a Halloween art event. Participants were invited to download a line drawing of their character, Deevee and dress him up for Halloween. I used Procreate to digitally collage my original photographs. The background is twilight at Horn Pond in Woburn, Massachusetts. The horns are a Halloween bonfire in Burlington, MA. The face is a supermoon shot in Boston, MA. The facial features are Northern Lights shot in Reykjavik, Iceland. The torso is a night sky in Vermont. The broom handle is an old covered bridge in Maine. The broom bristles are a broom shot in Wilmington, MA.
